I always want to be first to discover something or try something. Now I can be the first to try the TP when it is found.

I just remembered something... Enhanced Full Rate. Wouldn't this be almost the same as the gain tables?

Here is an explanation of Full Rate (copy/pasted from a Kruejl post):

You don't get better signal, just better voice quality. The AMR Full Rate and AMR Half Rate codecs are how much bandwidth the phone transmits/receives to the towers. Half Rate allows more phones to use an individual tower with a loss in overall voice quality (negligable most of the time). Forcing Full Rate will only allow the phone to use the FR Codec, meaning the phone will transmit/receive double the digital voice bandwidth. The only downside is if the tower is experiencing heavy usage it may take a few tries for the call to connect.

Here's the seem for that:

SEEM 00a2_0001

**all offsets are HEX**

offset 00 - bit 5: disable AMR Half Rate (1 on, 0 off) (bit 6 must be off)
bit 6: enable AMR Half Rate (1 on, 0 off) (bit 5 must be off)

offset 01 - bit 5: disable AMR Full Rate (1 on, 0 off) (bit 6 must be off)
bit 6: enable AMR Full Rate (1 on, 0 off) (bit 5 must be off)

How to tell what audio codec your phone is using:
While in a call, enter field test mode and in the Serving CS/TB screen, look on the bottom line beside "coder."
The first part of that string of letters is the part you're looking for.
AFS = AMR Full Rate
AH0 = AMR Half Rate
AH1 = AMR Half Rate
EFR = Enhanced Full Rate
FR = Full Rate

Hope it helps.

1) At first connect your phone (maxx or v3xx) to your P2k05 manager

2) Download the file "audio_cfg_b.db" from your a\mobile\system

3) Make backup of this file f.e. audio_cfg_b.db.backup

4) Launch Motosound and select "open from file"

5) From the open menu select *.db extension not *.bin

6) Find downloaded file where have you stored it from phone and open it

7) Now U will see 8 rows (it?s from 0 to 7) and one called "multimedia"

Cool I think that 0 - 7 values are the same like the volume meter in your phone, "multimedia"

9) Ok In the right column called "changed" right click each row and increase the value (I changed all values +2) it means 0 is now 2 and so on...7 is 9

10) After the changes were made select "save to file" and save it like audio_cfg_b.db

11) Now delete your original in your phone and upload modded

12) Restart and you?re finished

Guide by Tommom and thx to SYNERGY - author of Motosound, Synergy will release his own guide in English with the release of 1.3

Tested and work.

Araeff after following your directions, using the plus two (2) method with the audio_config_b, I noticed that when I put my phone on level seven (7), that the sound was faint at most. The other levels were noticeably louder. I changed it several time using one (1) then three still I had basically no sound at level 7. So I decided to experiment I downloaded the audio_config file opened it in motosound, and made just one adjustment. I use plus one on the number seven level, plus one on the mutimedia level, and plus one on the speaker phone level, I got back my level seven on the phone and everything is so much louder. I can hear my phone ring from the from of my house to the back. the speaker phone can be used from across the room, and while playing music it sounds like a small radio.

This is with the V3xx.

Has anyone figured out how to edit the volume of the low battery alert sound? I would like to set the volume of it to 0 because it is so useless and annoying. I was able to do it with my old v3, but I've had no luck with the v3xx.

That is part of the system sounds, you cant lower it without lowering your other system sounds and alerts, at least not yet. The afore memtioned file posted by Araeff works great on the V3xx, read this thread and follow the suggestion or just change the levels to your liking.

I wonder if there is a sound file on the phone somewhere that would contain the low batter alert that I could replace with an empty sound file?

Go into a:/mobile/audio listen to each midi and wave file when you find the one for low battery, delete it or get another one and name it the same and reupload it. this should solve your problem. Dont forget to back up!

I will give it a try and let you know what I find a little later. This is what I found out so far. External speaker system tone gain, effects system tones coming out of the external speaker (reminder tone, style/volume change tone, Continental /Siren/Attention/Classic ringtones, low batt tone, service tone, autoredial ring, roaming ringtone)

what the? I posted a rather long message on here yesterday, and now its gone...

Anyways, I tried turning the system tones gain down to zero. It made the sound quieter, but its still there. I noticed the same thing when experimenting with the multimedia and calls gains on the external speaker. Higher made them louder, but 0 only made them quiet, not off.

Any luck figuring out the offset in audio_config_b (or another seem) to change the volume on bluetooth speaker / mic? It seems jus the basic step table and wired headsets are identified at this point in motosound.
