RAZR v3i Frustration - ready to bin it

I have no idea what I am doing - my phone is useless and I can't seem to fix it. I have downloaded all the software to flash it again but it will not work. the screen just says

I have downloaded packs and stuff from here but it wont open. Sadly I may have to ditch my Moto but desperate to give it one more go.

Specifically, what are you trying to flash?

Do you have a backup?

Which program are you using to flash with?

Hi - thanks for your replies - I will start at the beginning.
I brought the RAZR for my daughter who pestered me for it but it broke and it used to cut out all the time. It was replaced and 2 batteries came with it but still you could only get 2 hours running time out of it. Daughter was gutted so I gave her an old nokia I had and I took the RAZR and tried to update the software on it - thats when it all went pair shaped and now the RAZR does nothing but display the message on the screen:

I have downloaded RSD lite as well as the Motorola program. I then downloaded monster packs and anything else resembling what looked like operating software for the RAZR v3i and tried loading it to the phone without success. I tried to make a back up - it says it did and all the folders are there but they have nothing in them.
I am not totally dumb when it comes to computer stuff but this has got me stuffed and I don't know what to do. I don't want to throw the phone away as it is a nice phone - when it goes for more than an hour or so.

Did you try Flash&Backup to backup the phone?
Is that what you mean by Motorola Program?
You need the registered version to do a complete backup.

It appears you have a sticky firmware. But that is not a bad a thing.

Have tried any of the MP we have in the Download section?

Yes - I have downloaded them but there seems to be something wrong with the file as I cannot extract it. Downloading other files works fine.

I have downloaded several but when I extract the file only an empty folder is extracted and no shx file. .................

Have downloaded and paid for "Flash&Backup3" it found the phone and files ok. tried to write back the file I backed up and it came up with

I downloaded RAR Monkey and it was able to extract the files. I am now using Flash&Backup to load it to the phone and its taking it this time!!

It worked!!! but phone still doing weird things - but at least all I have to do is find the best MP to put on it now!! WOOHOO!

hmmmm.... Same problem before all the drama. Either the battery is not charging properly or there is something wrong with the battery - both of them. doesn't seem to hold its charge and it just shuts completely off at random times.

But at least I have that to moan about now!! haha!
