Picked up an L7 for a whole dollar minus battery and cover. Got all that now and with a total of 8 bucks in what looks like a brand new phone. Now. Its cingular branded in applications and firmware. Can anyone point me to an unbranded USA retail flash? Or would i be better off just leaving it as is? Its already unlocked.

Ok figured out how IO got this phone so cheap. There is no sound from songs and phone is silent ringing. Plus silent on speaker phone. Any ideas from the L7 experts? All basics checked and ive done a master reset.

Ok. tried that download and everything seemed to flash ok. But the same FW is on the phone. Back to possible speaker problem. Phone does make sound when you hit keypad buttns.

Anyone know if the speaker form a V3 will work in the slvr. I have a few junk v3s with good speakers

Ok. The speaker i just dug up out the v3 parts is round. From what i can tell looking in the L7. Its is rectangular spot. Appears that the speaker is missing. Cant find a bit to take it aprt so ill mess with after work tomorrow. Ive got a broken L7 for parts coming too, So hopefull i can fix this one. Thios listings are for the earphone speaker. The earphone works just fine. I can talk on the phone. Just no ring tone or music sound. B4 anyone says it. No the phone is not on silent.

which bootloader is on your phone?

Power off phone

* # and power pressed at the same time will show you bootloader and s/w version ??

Yes that is it. It appears that there is no speaker in this phone. Going to get a tool to take it apart.

Ok took phone apart and the speaker in the bottom of the phone is missing. So waiting on parts phone to come. So tempted to rob the speaker from the L2 ive got laying around. But that phone is mint condition.

Ok the parts phone i got for a few bucks came today. Took the speaker from it and fixedmy L7. All is good. So i got an L7 in mint condition with 8 minutes on the lifetime counter for right around 12 bucks including a new battery and new battery cover. As phone originally came without battery or cover. Cant figure out why it would have been missing the speaker. Didnt look like phone had ever been apart. Maybe a factory defect?
Also got an extra battery and a decent motorola bluetooth with the parts phone. Now if i could just unbrand it id be more happy. Its cingular branded.

Thank you so much. Flashing it now. Not sure why this happens, but this MP as well as one on my V3 forces the phone to roam on centennial wireless when i have my ATT prepay sim in the phone. Before the flash ATT showed ATT now show centennial with a roam.
