most of the time i wonder what it's like where everyone lives????

so.........
What Is It Like Where You Live????

I live in a small town called Letchworth,
30 miles north of London,
the town is surrounded by typical British country side (lots and lots of greenery)

Mary and I live just 5 minutes south of the city of Baltimore, Maryland USA. Its a suburban area, but we live on a wooded lot... so it affords us a little privacy...

Well I live in a town called Princes Town, so named after 2 English princes that visited our country some time in history and loved it so much it was named after them. It's a thriving little place with all the required amenities to survive instead of having to go to the nearest city, San Fernando. I live in a quiet part of the town. I am originally from the city though. It's very Caribbean and sunny (no I do not live in a thatched hut), though there are over grown bushes on the lots on both sides of our house. In the city where I am originally from, lots of concrete and I only had a 5 minute walk to the main area. My parents still live there so I am there alot. There is alot more to my country but for now I will just say that I think we are alot more developed than alot would like to believe until they see it. I will put some pics in at a later point.

Well this is where I live, like I said a bit of foliage around but that's just the sides. Lots of houses where I live just unattended lots on the sides and back. My Mother in law lives upstairs with her youngest son (he's in the Fire Service now so he's not really home much now), I live on the left downstairs with my wife and son (white curtains) and we have some tenants on the other side (gold curtains), and that's our (my wife and my) car parked right there.

I live in the Clairemont area of San Diego, California.
It is actually a canyon and we don't have air conditioning.
The canyon runs to the Pacific Ocean, and there is always a breeze.
The year round average temperature is 64.2
Yes, that is a fireplace chimney. In January, we actually get to use it.

@ Mr. T.
you have really cold nites there tho don't you
even during the summer months.
The nights are cool, even in the summer.
We rarely get a frost, but in December - February,
it can get down in the 40's at night.
The days are almost always comfortable.
Not unusual for a difference of 25 - 30 degrees between
day and night.
Today it was 70 and tonight it is suppose to be 50.
August is the warmest month. But even than, the nights are cool.

Spike

(camped for 2 nites)
then stayed in Palm Springs,
it was just so hot during the day,
but couldn't believe the temperature change at nite!

San Diego is never as hot as Palm Springs.
San Diego weather reports include 4 areas: coast, inland, desert and mountains.
Just depends where you are.
It can be 110 in Palm Springs(desert) and 70 in San Diego.
We always leave sweaters in the cars, just in case we are running late.
How did you like the Festival?

I'll trade with you  In New England (North East US) it can get down to -30 to -40 F with the wind chill in my area during those months. Adverage is around 20 to -10 F - perfect for snowmaking :-) Boards, skiis and gear are all set for this season. Not that I'm rushing winter but... well, I'm rushing winter :-) After 20 some years skiing I started boarding last year with my 7 year old (who had been skiiing since she was 3) and we both loved it. For the last 3 years we have been going to the Burton US Open at Stratton Mnt, VT to watch the Boarding Competitions (Shaun White, Ross Powers, and my daughters fav. Gretchen Bleiler). My 13 year old brother-in-law actually competed in the Junior Jam (1/2 pipe challenge on day 3 of the open) last year and did well dispite getting a concussion during practice right before the event. He fought with us and his coaches to give him a couple runs - may not have much for brains but he's got heart :-)

Anyways, I've jacked this thread enought  One last thing though, if there are any young boarders out there, Ross Powers (02 Olympic Medalist) runs a boarding camp soon after the open at Stratton Mnt with some big names dropping in to board with the kids. My son & brother-in-law have been doing it for the last couple years and love it.

Had a house in Vermont, near Killington for 11 years.
Use to ski all the time, at least when the sun was out and
never on weekends. Haven't skied since selling it.
