Hi all. Hope someone can help me. I just bought my v3xx a few days ago and it was working fine.
Just yesterday, i was browsing the internet with it and i guess i fell asleep :P, when i woke up the next morning, the phone is dead.

So obviously i thought i can just charge it, cos it looks like the battery's dead. When i plugin the charger, the phone flashes once (dim light), then flash second time (brighter light), as though its about to powerup, then it went blank. And then it repeats, flash 1 dim, then brighter, then blank. At first i thought this was suppose to be a battery problem since i left it on all night, so i left it at that state (flash flash blank) for a few hours, but still, not working. But then, could it be a phone problem as well?

Care to shed a light on this before i send it back? thanks a lot.

Do you have a desktop charger or extra battery to try?
Can you try someone else battery?

i've tried using the usb - laptop, no go. the red light is on, but still can't power up. when i use MPT, it says phone not detected.

oh yea, another thing to add is, when i try to press the power button for about 5 secs, the keypad lights up once.

any ideas?

oh yea.. i havent had the chance to try another battery yet. just checking if any gurus can shed a light on whats happening based on the "symptoms", whether its as simple as just a dead battery issue or the phone issue.

To many strange things can happen to phones.
I killed my new V9 just doing a seem edit.
The symptoms where as you are describing.
If you hold the * and # down at the same time. Does your phone go into bootloader mode without having to press the on button.

funny you should ask that. previously, i tried pressing * # but i can't remember the 3rd key. after a few tries, i think the bootloader came up even by just pressing the *# keys (i just tried that n yes, the bootloader came up without the on key). besides the bootloader version, the flashing text "battery low, cannot program" came out.

just fyi, prior to this, i did not do any modding to my phone, except just trying to put in some skins using skinman.

Must be your battery ct, try n change the battery... I cant remember any event when "battery low cannot program" arise and not because of battery. Try n change and u might have to reflash the phone.

That is what happen to mind. Nothing will detect the phone. AT&T gave me a new phone. They tried a new battery and it was no good

ctkong, I see you tried charging via usb, but did you also try via standard wall charger? Just wanted to make sure of this as when I charge via usb, the phone is always turned to an "on" state before charging starts. If your battery is completely drained, it will not reach the "on" state.

Also, have you pulled the battery before trying the wall charger?

actually i used the wall charger first before trying the usb. and that (the flash flash blank) went on for about 3 hours before i decided to pull the plug cos the battery is getting too hot. but surely after some time (not to the extent of 3 hrs), the phone should be at the "on" state right?

but i definitely did not try to pull out the battery before charging, does it help? how long am i suppose to take out the battery before charging?

hi all. i've sent my phone back to the shop and its ok now.
here's what happened:

- they tried using my wall charger to test, the flash flash blank came out
- then they used a different charger, and the phone immediately powered on (!)
- then they used back my original charger to charge, and its on again (!???)

they said that when the battery is totally drained out, "sometimes" it wont power up (wtf). well, at least my phone is alive again, everything is intact, i'm so glad that they don't have to change it or flash it. well i guess next i won't drain the batt before charging again :P
