Has anyone seen any newer versions of msnap that might work with the newer versions of the LD firmware and the MLD firmware for the V3xx's?

No I have not. My VL maxx and V9 doesn't work on it either. I set the Maxx up to use the video call button to take pic.

My V3xx cingular(LD) use to work on the msanp. Before it died :(

Msnap works on both my v3xx's.

It only works on one of mine.(R26111LD_U_96.71.95R), It does not work on my MLD, nor either of my R26111LD_AS_U_96.B0.0AR. All I get on those three phones is Invalid packet type "13". TK what software does your two have on it thats working.

My MSnap works on my V6 Maxx, K3, V3xx LD.

OK FLD I think I will try the seem edits I have it on the one that works with msnap, I should have thought of this before. Thanks for the heads up.

Edit:
I checked my seems, and found I already had it on there I downloaded all my modified seems from my original phone to the new ones. DOH!

The older one does work on my PC. The dos window will not open

No, not yet but thinking about it. Not sure if I want a key that I can accidently hit taking screen shots though. Can it be mapped to the jack key? I should just look at the thread myself shouldn't I. :D

Offset-19=Video Call original value=41 change that to FF and that will remap the video call button to Screen Shot.

Now, let me explain a little about the way MSnap works. Most (if not all) P2K phones have an undocumented screenshot feature that is used internally by Motorola engineers during firmware development, and it is what MSnap uses. It is important to understand that the program doesn't read the phones memory or anything like that, it just tells the phone: "Hi, could you please send me a picture of your screen?". Then it is up to the phone to comply with the request or not

Around 2006-2007 Motorola changed their code so that it checks the IN_FACTORY bit before capturing the screen, because the screenshot function is supposed to be used only by engineers. Therefore, if you send screen capture command to a production phone with newer firmware, it will see that IN_FACTORY bit is zero and deny the request.
So, in order to use MSnap with newer firmwares you would have to set IN_FACTORY bit to 1 or patch a part of firmware so it just ignores that bit. I don't know if it is possible at all, but I certainly don't recommend doing it.

It will normally work on the v3xx, Scotsman828 .
I say normally as Msnap can be very fussy.
It is the newer phones that are a problem.

You cant just search for the IN_FACTORY bit. If you could find it and edit it then it would mean Msnap is FLEX dependant and not FIRMWARE dependant, i dont know if i am making my point here or not... the IN_FACTORY bit must be in the CG1
