Greetings!
now my problem is this, iv tried to follow all the different guides about changing the outerscreen logo, BUT, i cant find a cl.gif..

now iv looked thorougly, if downloaded every file from the phone to my PC and no gif even close to the one i have on my outerscreen..
someone told me motomain ( an extencionless file under a/mobile/ ) is it, it was close, but no cigar.

its an unbranded v9, and i noticed most of the guides mentioned a AT&T's version so it could be different.

if anybody could shed some light on my problem, please do so...

oh, allmoust forgot the version numbers:

EDIT: im using p2ktools VS, thats the only program so far that iv managed to get connected, all other(p2kadvanced etc.) are crashing

Have you tried the guide by fldodger?
Changing cl.gif on Razr2 V9
First make your image 240x320 and name it cl.gif
The connect your phone to
P2K Commander Version V.9.E Edition

Then go to A/ mobile and look for cl.gif download it and save a copy.
Now delete the image and upload your new one.
Click restart and your done.

oh, and i tried to use diggerent versions of p2k commander, but the program just keep on crashing everytime i try connect, and keeps giving me this error:

Message file loaded.
P2kCommander-V4.9.0

Usb p2k device found, phone connected !
P2k Tci IF up.
Tci command set: 3G fast
Open Internet connection.
Check if update available.
USB: IO Time-out!

is there a driver problem or something?

Use p2k commander 4.9E motomodding version., your is outdated

When you install it make sure it is installed c:/programs NOT desktop or my document.

ok thanks, i got the p2k commander new working, but it doesnt solve my problem..
im telling you, somethings different with this version of the phone, iv checked and recheecked the guides and i havent missed anything, there just isnt a cl.gif anywhere, neither on the other drives


EDIT; seems some options in the seem files in p2k point thowards outerscreen, could it bee i need to edit in the seem?

Check these seems
0061_0001 and 0062_0001 .

Please use the P2k commander download seems and upload.

Look on the right you should be able to see the path the cl is.
Please NOTE this from a V3

mines exactly like yours, i tried, still doesnt work, i opened up a jpg in ifran view, rezized it, and converted it to .gif, uploaded it but theres still the same default picture on the screen... and there hasnt been a cl.gif on my phone, so i see how this SHOULD work, i mean if it uses an other picture if cl.gif is not present, but i cant get it to work...

Post the image you want to use. And let me try it mind. I had modify mind a bit to get it to work.
It is post arround here somewhere. See if you can find it and try it.

Also did you the other seem. Just to make sure it is the same.

if you have any 240x320 pic your sertain that works, i could try, but i doubt it will work,

p2k commander's seem functions are limited to only one list(?) so i use p2kVS, with
VS i got the 0061_0001 seem opened

when you open your your phone there is no image on the cover at all.

i have picture on the outerscreen when i boot..

I tried your pictures, no luck :S

when i get the chance ill take some pictures of my phone so you can see the different pics

Nothing shows when you open it?

Can read text on the outside screen?
Who is server Provider? Is it GSM or CDMA?

When you close your phone can you see your wallpaper on the outside.

everythign works on the phone perfectly, well except trying to change the picture of the outside screen
the outerscreen including the touch area, all fine..

im comming to the conclusion that my firmware or something is different,
when i have time, maby tomorrow, i could download all the files from my phone and zip them, and maby you could have a look?

Does your phone have the ability to read the text messages from the outside?

Here is a seem to change the path the phone looks for cl.
SEEM 004a_0001/004b_0001
offset 27 (00 for custom outer image from path saved in seems 0061/0062, 01 for custom outer text stored in seems 0061/0062, 02 for Motorola icon)

yes, i can read the messages from the outside...
i can have a look later on the seem your talking about, but i think its the same that p2kcommander had in its seem list,(SEEM 004a_0001/004b_0001) i tried but then when i restarted the phone, it didnt give me anything but a blank screen, so i had to put it back to default settings, but p2kcommander only lets me set one setting, from 02 to 03 i think..?... maby i should try to edit vit a hex editor the value to 00?

i will tonight when i get home download all files i can find from my phone and send them to you.

I also do my seem manully. Just make sure your image is in there.
