I just picked up this phone tonite!

It is in immaculate condition and the owner tells me it was never used. So far I can only find out that this was Motorola's first flip phone.

"When the first digital networks were built Motorola introduced the flip phone, part of their Personal Digital Communicator Series. It could work in analog or digital mode. Many are still being used although the StarTac, introduced in 1996, and now the MicroTac, have since replaced the original flip phone."

If anyone can tell me more about this phone it would be appreciated.
Any idea what year this phone was made?
Would it be possible to use such an old phone?
Can they be unlocked?

I will take some more pictures as soon as I am able.

I need to find a charger for this phone. I know that the chances are slim to none. I'm sure that in all likelihood the battery will no longer hold a charge. This too could be a problem.

Any suggestions?

I contacted Motorola on this phone hoping to find at least a production date on this phone. I gave them a model number. 76236CARSA

Their response was to do a Google search and they found nothing. (Did they think I couldn't do a Google search.)I had thought they would have thier own Motorola old phone museum!

Anyways it's a cool phone. It makes a great paperweight on my desk.

I was hoping to get it up and running but there is not much use in trying.
Apparently analog signals are to be phased out in May of this year.
