A lil somthin for all you tech heads and modders...

There's a cool FREE program for having all sorts of cool system information on your desktop. It's called RainMeter. The best part of it is that it is skinnable. There are plenty of skins out there to download. WHy is he telling us about this, you ask? Cuz it's easy to skin!! Build your own interface for it! The program uses .ini files for skin interface. In case you don't know what those are, you can open them with notepad to read/edit them. If you just take a look at the clock.ini for the default skin, it'll give you a really good idea of how to get started. the ini files for other skins will show you other options. JUst look in the previews for the skins for the feature you want. The .ini will give you a clear-cut idea of how to code it. IF you really get stuck, PM me.

I have done enough that I think I have a good enough handle on how to code it that custom requests are now possible. I have thrown the idea that these are to be small in size out the window for my first ones. SO from here on in they will take up less desltop space. Only the clocks will be of a size that is easily read. The rest will be way smaller. MotoModding.us Rainmeter skin on the table now. Throw some ideas at me as to what it should look like. Maybe a rizr? I have some images of Moto Phones But that seems over-done. Like, I've seen that a million times. MPT has it, I tried it with a downloads page once upon a time, Etc.

No Idea is a bad one. but done to death is not good either.
You know, I haven't tried it with another filetype as the Background... Muahhahahahaha... Back to the laBORatory, igor....

Good News. It passed the tests. I just wanted to make sure it didn't show strange things after being stressed, like a CPU % outside 0-100, a time that was not 12h instead of 24h.

If you want to change the time from 12h to 24h:

Have the skin running and Right-Click it.

Point at "Skin Menu".

Select "Edit Skin..."

The .ini will open in notepad.

Look for this:
[MsrTime]
Measure=Time
Format=%I:%M

Change Format=%I:%M to Format=%H:%M.

Click FILE>SAVE.
Refresh Skin(see Note below)

If you want it to show AM/PM at the end, add %p to the end.
(you will have to move the time display to the left)
in notepad with the .ini open, find :

Meter=String
MeasureName=MsrTime
StringAlign=Left
X=114
Y=183
AntiAlias=0
FontColor=0,0,0,255
StringStyle=BOLD
FontFace=Tahoma
FontSize=10px

Change:
Y=183 to a lower number. (I move them 10 at a time and then fine tune back and forth till it looks right.)

note: you will have to refresh the skin to see any changes.
Right-Click the skin.
Select Refresh All.

I am Compiling a How-To for creating skins. It will contain a list of Measures and their attributes with a description of what each is for. I will post it here upon completion.
