New E8 Skin - Bestwebs Blue Sky - Improved & Optimized for speed


Before you install this skin you will need to have a firmware on your E8 that supports the addition of skins.


The skin includes colorful icons with transparent softkeys, new backgrounds in all the menus, latest E8 skin innovations, bright shading and highlights throughout several of the menus.
Font used is arial rounded with main menu gradient blue backgrounds.
Use included medid scripts to implement this.

Edits include: backgrounds, color highlighting, font enlargement, home screen editing,
phonebook editing, shortcut color editing, calendar editing and a different calculator.
Includes 13 E8 main menu icons, so skin will look good in all firmwares.

Skin has been optimized for maximum response speed for the Rokr E8.
Total file size reduction of 60%

Many hours have been spent in the testing and making of this skin.

cant you make sort of "shortcut", so the e8 skinning forum is where it is now, but you could access it from e8 subforum too just in the way bestwebs mentioned? That'd have only advantages so I don't see a reason for not doing it.

Thanks guy's... good advice and I can follow them but need to clarify some stuff.

When using the 5 scripts rthat chnge the backgrounds... which skin background do they actually alter... I've got 10 different skins on my phone already (+ Onyx making 11). If i paste the scripts into the ezxlocal and do as instructed... does that not affect the whole phone?. Just need to modify 1 skin so how would that happen?

Hi,

The medid mods change the background in the main menu, multimedia, office tools, settings and games.
It changes it for all skins.
You can make your own gif graphics - there are 2 or not use the medid at all.
The mod looks for the 2 gif graphics for the background in the Other folder.
If they are missing, than you would have the default onyx black background in those screens.

I'm interested in any skin with optimized speed as the e8 is already somewhat slow, so i intend to d/load this skin. But the last screen shot shows non-transparent short cuts... When u say transparent soft keys are u talkin about that?

The homescreen softkeys, behind select and cancel. it is transparent so the background shows through.

uhm... firmware? i downloaded yr updated flash 10-18-08. "Bestwebs-E8-Mem-Remix-OffTools-6ShortcutEdt-V4R2-Flash" is the name of the file.
I think one reason for my prob is the size of my m/card (128mb). I've used 1500mb of my phone memory so far. i haven't used yr new skin yet, the green envy skin works faster than pre-mod onyx but still not as good as when the phone memory is mt.

That's one of the graphics used in the medid mod to change the background of your phone.

Hi,

Those screens have the gradient blue background. (Thumbnail 3 and 4 below.)

The other screen backgrounds are embedded in the iconres.ezx and are part of the skin itself.

i still get the rokr backround when i go to the main menu...
all of the icons and everything is fine u can just see the icons in the main menu then the red rokr logo in the backround

Mainmenu background can be changed using the medld mod.
Which flash are you using?

My BootLoader 06.A9 can not be flashed atleast dat wat i have read so far so is der a way to change the thme am frd up cn the same old skins again and again

Yes, to get those nice back rounds you need to use the medid mods.
I don't know if you can install this completely on 06.A9.

I made this way before there were locked firmwares.
