It takes some getting used to, unless you are somewhat familiar with symbian.
It's actually easier in some ways than linux, but is nothing like p2k......

I use FoxMod v2.1, the one here in the thread......Its the latest F/W in the MP, and adds the ability to add apps that arent signed....A MUST for MODDERS!
Make sure you get swissmanager pro for it, and xplore.....they are used to see hidden system files. Also swissmanager can end all tasks to save RAM until needed...... GREAT FEATURE!!!
Tweakpeaks is good for system speedup, which is needed to watch movies....
divx player for .avi movies is a must
It's really your choice for apps, some work, some dont......I only use the basics for performance and such.....

i wanna install this into my phone
i had a v360 and used to flash it and do some (minor) modds to it , but as i see it differs from p2k.

what do i need to know to flash it ? some help step-by-step ? (including drivers ? - i have some drivers , rsd lite see my phone .. need something more?)

or , if it is simpler , how can i "Install unsigned SIS packages with all capabilitys " ?
and "Install SIS packages with protected\unprotected UID" ?

Welcome to the forum campers.
I have used this MP on my Z8 as well and its pretty good.

If rsd lite is recognizing your phone then you should be ok.
As stated in the guide use rsd lite 4.3 or better.
Take a look at Flashing Linux Motorola's with RSD Lite Versions (http://www.mmus.us/forum/showthread.php?t=3912)
Read through the guide and get familiar with the process.

Also Do a Backup with Motorola PcSync before the flash if you want to save any contacts messages etc.

In the download there is a folder called zesource.
This folder has to be installed to the memory card prior to the flash.

If you have any questions just post them up.

Just remember to install the zesource to your mem card prior to the flash.

a little problem : when i try to snap pictures with 2 mpx resolution , sometimes it tells an error message (happen yesterday 3 times and today 2 times ) .
if i select a smaller resolution , it works !
what can i do ? ( unfortunately , forgot the message error , cause i wasn t home.. but as i will remember i will write here)

PS : ELEGANCE-Z8-V1-2388 firmware that is using tankrider , is it better then this one ?

In my opinion yes it is a better than foxmod 2.1 but you will have to try it your self to see what you think i liked it when i had it on my phone!:thumbup:

Not sure about the error that you are getting snapping pictures i have never had this problem when using the foxmod 2.1

The ELEGANCE-Z8-V1-2388 firmware is running pretty good.
Both are great work by thier respective authors.
As RP has suggested your better off to flash it yourself and see how you like it.

I flashed Stock 2388c8, then FoxMod 2.1 (put those things in E:\zesource fiesr :P ). Now, I added the "fonts" folder. Tried two fonts : Marking Pen (just 5 .ttf files) and Nokia N95 (~12 .ttf files - TankRider made it for me, it worked when I had Elegance V1.0).

I know that we can't have custom fonts on FoxMod 3.4, but I thought they'll work on 2.1 :| . Surprise, THEY DON'T ! ~X( What the hell?!

I know the guide states that the font should be loaded to the /zesource/fonts/folder, try loading to /Resource/fonts/

I have my fonts installed to /Resource/fonts/ and they work perfect using this flash.

Another thing, if your using english only language then you can edit one .ttf file only to change all system fonts, looks will vary depending on the font file.
Font has to be named Kamelion_basic.ttf, font family name Kamelion Basic

Give this one attached a try and see how it looks, a few basic screens.

Hmm, indeed you are correct. There seems to be a "resource" folder :-? . I installed all application (on phone's memory) and all games (on memory card), and there is E:\resource\apps containing all the images for the games I installed. I put "fonts" there, and they work ^^ .

I think this works on FoxMod 3.4 as well. Won't try it since I don't wanna flash again :) .

Is that the Andrea's Pen font? Well, I hate it :P . Please archive all other fonts you have (except N95, this one and Marking Pen) :) . Some simple Tahoma or Veranda would be nice :D . That is, of course, if you have them :P .

Can you explain one more time that "you can edit only one .ttf..."? I didn't understand anything :| .

What's to explain....:boh: You have the single font file now that I have posted for you...and it's working.

Take a look at how it's named and rename your own fonts the same way.

yes, right click and rename.

However, if you open the font and look at the font family name it may differ, in that case you will have to use High Logic font creator and open the .ttf file, go to >Tools>AutoNaming>and change the font family name.

If you look at the font I posted you can see....
-font renamed to>Kamelion_basic.ttf
-font family name>Kamelion Basic

Most .ttf files work and look pretty good this way.

In the "resource" folder in Memory Card's root, add the "fonts" folder containing all the font files. Resource, not Zesource.
