quick question

i have a quick question. for pictures like icon gifs and such, does anybody know how to make them so their kind of transparent to the backround? for example if i have a red backround and the icon has a white backround, how do i make it so its red without changing the icon itself? i dont really know how to explain it,does it make sense?

You can do that with Photoshop.But I don't know more... I find Photoshop difficult.

oh i dont have photoshop so i cant use it. the only thing i have is paint.

You can download paint.net and use that, it's free, let me know when you have it and i'll teach you how
