backup my sms

I want to store my sms from mobile phone for backup. Is it possible? I also want to know if it's possible to upload them again on my phone. How should I do it?

Depending on how many sms you have to backup you can transfer to the sim card and then back to your phone after flashing etc.

I know that the latest version of Motorola Phone Tools will read and store sms to your computer to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BVRP Software\Motorola Phone Tools\Document and Queue folders

I have never tried to reload these to the phone,not sure about that.

Yes I found them but unfortunately Motorola doesn't have on Motorola Phone Tools a selection for backing up the SMS directories such as Nokia Phone Suite. I can only store them as txt but I can upload them again. Damn I want to save them all...

If you use flash and backup for flashing your phone then there is a possibility that you can backup and restore sms's , contacts !! So do you use flash & Backup ??

You mean if I do a backup with flash&backup, I'll be able to backup my SMS folders? Do you have a guide for this?

Ok you can use Flash and Backup Software for flashing the phone or even backing up your contacts,messages,timers !!

Connect your phone to modem mode ..
if u have usb drivers installed the phone will connect !! Select the correct profile of your phone !!
After the phone connected you can select the option backup selected in the software in other features !! Plzz tick the provided options !! and click backup selected !!
Later on even if you flash the phone to some other fw and all your data is lost you will have to connect the phone and click on the option restore backup and be sure you have if u set it to the correct profile of your phone !! Njoy !! ;)

Google for Flash and Backup software cannot be posted because considered warez !! This software can be used for various phones !!

I own the latest version 3.0.7 of Flash & Backup but I didn't knew that I can backup my sms! So, If I use the newest firmware for my V3x, I will be able to restore my SMS folders if I upgrade my firmware? I have 85.9B.E5P and I want to upgrade it on 85.9B.E6P. Thank' s for you help!

Ιt didn't worked for my MAXX V6 VL unfortunately. Is this method checked from others? On 3.0.7 of Flash & Backup the function of backing up is disabled. I used 3.0.4.

use a registered version of flash and backup !!

I dont see this option on my registered 3.0.7 FB3 version.
If you still cant use this method take a look in a/mobile/msgdb/ folder.
My maxx is currently dead now so i cant check this but i seem to remember the sms files being stored in this folder(as long as you have your sms setup to store to the phone and not sim)
You may be able to copy these back after flashing to retore sms.

On V3x, L9 and V9 can we backup our sms folders, storing specified files and folders that they have relation with the sms files?

Par example on V6 we must backup a/mobile/msgdb/ folder, on V3x, V9 and L9 which folder or file(s) should we backup?
