Motorola Z8 Unlock ??

Hy everybody.
Im kinda new here.. and i have some questions for you guyz' :D

I have a Z8 brought from Germany..and it is locked to Vodafone. Now.. i leave in Romania, and i want to use it with vodafone Romania or Orange romania.

I know that v360 can be unlocked with some software.. i hope that i can unlock z8 at my home.. because here i have to pay around 50euro for unlocking it in a gsm service :(

Call Vodafone and ask if they can do it. Don't know since it's already locked to one of their branches. They should really be able to though...... It's just a matter of how good or bad they are at customer service.

I don't suggest the key_gen style unlockers(do from home). They rarely work correctly, and are notorious for have trojan generators and downloaders( basic viruses )! Go to ebay and try the ones there. They can unlock phones for like $10-15USDollars, and nearly always work. If not, they always offer a refund.

The thing is..that a friend brought the phone from there..he paid something like 75euro with a sim card in it.. but now i want to use it with my sim card..that seems not to work :(

I was hopping that z8 can be unlocked like v360 could..with some software..not codes..i was thinking if i flash the z8 with a non locked firmware..maybe it will unlock it ? :D

NO that will not work. Flashing a unlock MP to locked phone will not unlock it.

As the others confirmed it cannot be unlocked by software. You have to use an unlock service. I recently had one bought from the UK that was locked to Voda. The problems was that we obtained the unlock code and it refused to go to the subsidy screen.

My advice to you is to first ensure that when you put in the SIM from another provider ensure that the Subsidy code screen appears. Do not attempt to enter anything in it or else it can take days before it returns to this screen. If you have already attempted to enter something then chances are you will not see this screen prompt. You may have to leave the phone on for a couple of days so it can return to the enter code prompt. This is not necessarily a surety since mine did not return to that screen and it was on for nearly 4 days.

Get the code it is you best bet at unlocking that bad boy...and enjoy that Moto.

thank you guyz... do you know from where is the safest site..from where i can buy the unlock code ? because.. i quite don't trust all the sites..who says that gives me..the codes. i want to know if one of u.. used a site like that :D

I have used unlockitnow.com before and their service was pretty good.

There is a button push code to get into subsidy unlock for the z8. Simply inserting a different sim card will not work.
I think Rotary Parts told it to me.
I will ask him when I talk to him later if I get a chance.

The code is **57* I believe but this does not always work. It was done on my Z8. This is done if the Enter code screen doesn't show. If this is unsuccessful as in the case of entering the incorrect code a couple times you have to wait it out. In my case it never reverted.
