Want find out what MP's are SAFE to flash to this. It's a Cingular Phone and I have T-Mobile, have the settings for T-Zones so no big deal there. Just want to get something without all the Cingular stuff on it. Is there a "rule" for this firmware?

Ok now - so I can flash anything that says the R479 firmware? Have any suggestions ?

I would get the most up to date, but the .86R is sticky, so I wouldn't flash that if your planning to downgrade.

I guess from what I've found out is that I can flash any R479 or even R4441D MP. And I also take it that I can flash RSA Removed BUT if I do that I can only flash RSA MP's after. That's what I gather. I think I might just dig into finding out how to edit the menus (I mean like get rid of it saying Cingular Mail and Change it to simply Mail) without flashing it.

Would anybody by chance no how to edit the menus - I'd really love to change the Addressbook name to something shorter too.

Here's what I'm doing - said I would keep the forum updated. I decided to just keep my own phone's software and do some mods on my own. So far I've changed the StarUp Graphics/Sounds without a problem. My next goal is to get all these fancy seem edit (I guess that's what they are - things like enable ringtones to be set from memory card - etc.). I've seen a guide for extracting certain parts for MP's and am looking at that now. I guess I'm making my own MP eh?

Nooooo don't do that to the V3.. come on man it was a ground breaking phone that gave many hours of happy hacking to a lot of people..;)
