In the next day or 2, there will be a upgrade to forum. I am not sure if we will be down for any amount time. But ASSURE you we will be back. The forum may have a different template, I have not found out if the current template is compliable. We will loose some of the feature (quick reply- image shack- inline adds- images of skin at top) I have installed on the forum but we gain more.
I work hard at getting those back asap. But the goods news I have been assured that we will not loose any data or members.

Please have patience in the next few days.

Thank you form the staff of www.motomodding.us

Guys and Gals now is your time to voice opinions

I had the default template up.

Now I have this one. I will leave it for up for 4 days and then switch.
Please let us know what you think we are all family here and everyone has a say so.

Personally,I like it.But I think we should remove some options we don't need which are located on the left sidebar.

fldodger
07-09-2007, 11:32 AM
Yes those options will be changed to links that we find useful.
Skins - DRM - Guides. But it will happen after the template has been decided on.
Plus it will give me time to figure how

Does anybody find the calendar at the bottom of the index page useful? I for one would like to get rid of it and locate the Who on line there.

How about forum width. On IE 7 and IE6 it is streched pass the screen. I have to scroll over to the right.

Please keep the opinion coming.

I like this template. The one you had before reminded me of another Moto forum. Oh and I noticed that some Moto sections are before the General sections (News, General). I think its kinda off since it starts with moto then goes to general stuff then back to moto. Looking forward to the changes though. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Bomber are using a laptop. On my laptop it is perfecrt on the desktop it is moved to the right.

Spiderman, Rotary and I are working on it. It might take us sometime. I am still learning. Rotary knows more than I so have left it and portal page up to him.

Well that is 2 no for the calendar.

This template is looking good so far. But need here from more memebr.

Next template will be called Apollo Black

This one is called Dark blue.

Calendar is not needed.
Green print for moderators is hard to read. So is this post.
Sidebar contains unnecessary options.
Headers are hard to read, looks like it is a gray print.
Not a big fan of the black background.

tkalli when you view post and use the back button. I doesn't record the visist to the post. if view the post and hit one of the links to to return to forum front it will elimate it. Or after you read them all hit mark all post read.

Sorry for the inconvience on that.

Rotary great job on removing calendar and enlarging the shoutbox and Who on line box.

07-10-2007, 07:58 AM
I'm using Flock 0.9 beta for my browser(it's mozilla based) and everything works fine! The screen width is a little wide(i think that this has been addressed already) but is not a real problem on my browser. Motomodding.us looks great and I can't wait to see how things progress over the next few weeks! Has the shoutbox been moved also?

fldodger
07-10-2007, 09:13 AM
Yes we got it alot closer. Rotary has more than 8 hours view template and trying to it make it fit. Aleast now the only thing to the right is is empty space

UPDATE:

I think we will stay with this template. I have switch over a few times and I don't like any of them.

Some of the ones I wanted tried. Apollo Black gave me a big scare this morning. Everything was messed up.

We had no threads, I though I lost everything.

Until I can hire someone again, we will stay with this one.

SOrry there will be no voting.

Cool, like how the Banner at the top looks. When you put it back yesterday it reminded me of how it used to be before but I like this new banner more. Gives the forum some Sting!

Sorry about this format has so many security in it that I have debugg and then edit templates to make things work. It took me 5 hour just to debug the download so I was aloud to start uploading files. I still can not get Knowledge Data base debugged to start adding stuff in there.

One of my personal favorite security features on MotoModding.us, is the new Advice bar at the top, I am not sure if everyone sees this, but if you use an I.S.P. like America Online, your I.P. address flip-flops around, usually within a set block. I use AOL sometimes, and I see this -

? ADVICE ?
The IP Range for your account has changed. The actual Login took place from 172.132.x.x, the previous from 172.164.x.x. If you didn't log on from another location,
then someone has access to your account without authorisation!

To me, features like this mean MotoModding.us is set up to be more secure than a lot of other Moto Modding forums that are around! 8)

fldodger

Yes I get that message when log in at work. Then I just log and log back in and it will go away.

But then when I get home I have to do the same thing again.

More updates:

Will be editing the Emoticons (Smiles) to make them look better on the site. I do not like that some show a white arround them

So we will stay with this one. We have put alot time in the images and font color and the setup. Besides it seems like we all like it.

The DOWNLOAD SECTION is filing nicely, thanks to our members and staff.

Guides are being added as we receive them. Acronyms are added as needed.

Forum Tour is in the works. 2 pages completed.

I have got the Optimize Database setup. I have notice a little slow down. Hopefully this will bring the speed backup.
