What was your first Mod. ?

Well this topic just came to mind the other day in my head. I thought I only really started modding when I had my V3i but as it turned out and upon further thinking back my first mod was when I changed the Welcome message and I think it's the Alpha Tag or something like that with my Motorola Startac so it came up with my name on the display. Didn't do any more mods to my other motos because the codes to change stuff was really hard to get at the time. We had some friends working with the provider so when we saw them they gave us some tid bits. I modded my ex-girlfriends Ericsson (as it was called at the time but I can't remember the model and it had this flimsy flip cover over the keypad). I changed the startup message on that as well...Those were some times.....when it was harder to mod the crap out of phones.....

Boy that is long time ago. ( Well not really 18 months) I have to say it was the startup and shutdown screen. No wait maybe it was delete all the B.S. out of the phone

I think for me, it was probably changing the cl.gif on my v3i. I thought I was the coolest! lol. :wink:

Cant remember when, but the first thing I did was flash my v3i with an MP, and realised that I didn't backup my phonebook... Sigh... I lost my contacts that I've kept for years. That was a quite a lesson.

the first thing I did was to install Motorola Phone tools and the necessary drivers. Then I updated it and tried to get a understanding of what the program could do.
Than it was wallpapers and screensavers.

2005, my Treo 650 with unbranded firm ? ware.
It went smoothly, but apparently was much easier than modding motos!

well the first sort of mod i did on me K1 was removing all the stock Vids, Pics and Tones

wallpapers and ringtones for my NEXTEL phones and all my friends, using a program called webjal

:) One of the first mods i did to my V3 was flash the newiest firmware 42.17R which sped up my whole mobile alot as i had a very very old s/w version on my mobile it was like out of date by 8 firmwares. Then i put on skins and it went on from there.

Skins...but the first MOD was a drm for my V3. Skins are a luxury... my good friend Fldodger taught me that. You find a truly talented artist such as him, and you are set for life!

now that I think about it the first skin I put on my phone might have been one of yours, it was a beach skin, my dad uses that one all the time on his V3i, and skins are what got me hooked on modding

The first mod for me was probably my dumbest to try . I dove right in and installed an MP that I saw and had to have (Apristels) Lucky for me it all went smoothly cuz I really didn't know what I could have gotten my self into. (the mindless bliss of the Noob). Still have that V3 lying around and I still love that MP. :lol:
