? About Forum "Points"

Can someone tell me what the user points are for? I seem to have 29 at the time of this posting, and I don't know if that's a good thing or :oops: not.

is that it's part of a rating system - you get so many points for posting the first
thread and so many for the second thread etc... makes sense now!
