Everybody has had that one moment in their life that solidified their reason for existence... the moment that altered their personna forever for the better...or maybe for the worse. What was it for you?

For me? The night my son was born. Mary had a caesarian section and was getting potassium in an IV for pregnancy induced hypertension. This made her nauseous and feverish.
The nurse rolled in the bassinet with JT in it and told her that his core temperature was low and he needed to be held "skin to skin" to warm him up. Mary was still groggy from her operation as well as sick to her stomach. I damn near ripped off my shirt and held my little boy against me. His little breath tickling my neck. I knew right then and there that little inconsequential things were really just that. Material belongings were not important. The one thing that REALLY MATTERED was that little shivering body I held close to me. THAT is what revealed to me I could be the most gentle person on the face of the earth.....or the most violent. I'd do anything to keep my son safe and happy.

Thats what changed me... definitely for the better.

How about you?

Woah amazing moments guys... I've yet to live those great moments (I hope) but so far the greatest happy moments have been when I got into my current university, when I got my v3i via delivery and recently my k3 thanks to stephuhnator ..

My defining moment would be when I bought my son home from the hospital and I held him sitting on our bed and it was just me and him in my arms. I looked at him and I smiled, the tears started to stream down my cheeks as he slept there. I was so amazed. I kissed him on his forehead and whispered that Daddy will do what ever it takes to keep him smiling, healthy and happy. No matter what. Then my wife came in and she dried my tears and smiled at me. I came from a life where I never thought I would have seen that day, lots of stressful moments and I had to keep my head above water to not get washed away with the tide. Now I have gotten passed that point and I didn't realized until after that it started the day I met my wife. My life now is totally opposite to what it used to be and all I need is my family to be happy..That's all I will ever need.

Hope that my marriage lasts that long as well. My parents are married 32 years now so I have a bench mark.
