Well I think this is a good starter, If you've got a question about this awesome , AWESOME phone, just let me know since I got one, and I'll answer... This is either for mild modding purposes (quick questions) as well as those of you that are considering owning one but have questions in mind.

All the way.. the phone is more nicely constructed, it grips so well.. Plus the UI is what's all about, fastest phone around, it never lags or freezes , even at multitasking. Symbians claim to be better, but man those things hang ! Besides the screen is jawdropping quality, the 240x320 resolution is well known but comparing to v3xx it beats it, comparing to Samsung D900, it beats it, even nokia's 16 million color display, seriously.

Everything Dmatthew says is true, it is one hot looking phone, feels great in your hand, and awesome UI! :D

I see you live in the same state I do stewpad, I bought a K3 thinking I could use it with AT&T, but it doesn't have the 850 band and I kept losing my signal in different areas. Also the 3G that comes on the K3 is not on the same frequencies that AT&T uses for it's 3G network, and even though I don't have 3G in my area yet, I had to send it back due to the total signal loss I experienced at times..... :(

Just my 2 cents if you were thinking of using it in Louisiana with AT&T....

Yes yes, that must be noted.. since the phone is triband, one should check up what bands are being used where you are located.

I have no problem since I use 1900.. and so most Latin America, Europe and Asia shouldn't face problems either.

Now if quad band were to be enabled... :twisted:

Is this phone capable of shooting mp4 video? My brother has a samsung d600 that shoots awesome mp4 with pretty decent clarity. Can the K3 compete?

It can shoot mp4 format, but the quality should be not that high since the resolution is 176x144 ... still it works well if it's a "spur of the moment" video.

Ok, so i was messing with the K1 at a t-mobile store and the camera can't start up when the phone is closed no matter what side buttons are pressed. Does this happen with the K3?

A regular k1 is able to do it by pressing the smart key...

In the case of k3, mine came with camera as the voice key so it starts up by pressing it...( closed or opened )

Ok, i was reading at GSM arena that when u recieve a text from a person, it will use the assigned ring as if u were recieving a call. Is this true? And if it is, is there a way to mod the phone to eliminate this and have a single dedicated tone for texts? (i dont mean to be picky about all this stuff, but this phone has alot of potential and its gonna hit the wallet pretty good when i make my final decision!)

Not a problem ! I know.. I always go for the details before buying a phone.. so I don't get nasty surprises ;)

About your question, I think the default is Ringer ID will prevail text and calls over the stock tones you use for that ringstyle.. might be a way around it but out of the box, nope.

Just got a K3 and it is awsome, the fastest moto ever. BUT I have horrible vodaphone branding and I cant see any MPs for it. Can anyone download me an unbranded backup or MP for a K3 and if so how can i back it up and then flash it? Thanks

If anyone here actually saw my flex compatability table then they should know that maxx R261171LD flexes are compatible with R261171LD K3 so you can flash MP flexes from maxx to some K3's

^ No problem. K3 content is hard to find. Not many people modding K3. Luckly daywalker04 collects f/ws etc from Motorola database.

If you whould like the VST Voice commands for Brazilian Portuguese i can post them also. There Official Motorola. < From daywalker04.

I used to work at Motorola too, here in Brazil a long time ago, but not anymore.

The language pack works fine, tks again!! 8)

I don't need the VST, I never use it.. but I would like an stock Motorola flash or just a simple skin for it, because mine has a flex from TIM Italia and the visual style is so confuse, I mean, the icons, menu and etc..

If you have or just know a place where I can find it, it will help me a lot!!

Like you said, it's too difficult to find modded files for K3, not too many people use this phone to mod yet. I also have an ROKR E8 and there are a lot of modded files on mm.us.

I need to install LP with Russian or to display incoming Russian SMS correctly.

I just got a K3 & it is indeed very hard to find any files for this phone. Are there any other SW's or MP's that are just generic & not branded?

Does anyone know if it is possible to enable funlights? I basically just want the BT icon to flash when I have a missed call or MMS.
