OK< this may sound dumb, but perhaps someone else will benefit from it too.
When choosing an MP, do I need to get one specific to my SW, or firmware? I assume flexware doesn't matter.

Yes... specific. Example, R47A -> R47A, R479 -> R479

V3i and V3i Itunes cant be mixed up. But there's a way to flash from one to the other, like R47A to R479 then to R4441D.

That makes sense.
So if I already have S/W: R4441D-G-08.01.03R, I need to find an MP that is also S/W: R4441D. Anything beyond that I need to consider? I'm not terribly interested in itunes, because I can still play mp3s without it.

But you have to know whether its sticky or not...

I mean the new one. Have to find out from somebody who have tried before. Your best choice is Archer and Richee...

I suppoe in the interest of honesty, I was being lazy, figuring if I install a new MP, I won't have to go thru each item for debranding.

I believe that is a non-sticky firmware you have, akinov

mine is sticky (R479_G_08_B5.86R)
