Do you smoke ciggarettes? Maybe a pipe?

I do. I smoke Marlboro Blend No27, about a pack a day.

Nope, not me... I smoke before some 14 years back, but I was a track sprinter back then and I've to choose between my sports or smoking, so quit...

Only when I drink, which isn't often.
I weight train and try to keep a 6-pack. Neither of those activities lend themselves to a vigorous morning workout.
But, when I do it's Marboro lights

Do you notice anything with the Chantix? Less craving, side effects?

Quit 2 years ago just 2 days after I met I quit I met my wife so it gave me more encouragement and then came my son. Grew up in a household where both parents smoked, used to do it in between in my early teen but I only got hooked on it when I was like 17.

Hey to all of those trying to quit it was just mind over matter for me because I quit and stated all over again and each time it was a disappointment to myself because I hate failure and that added even more to it. My out look on it and what I kept telling my self is " I was made in the image of the almighty and the ruler of this earth, so how come some dried leaves wrapped in paper can have me in so much control?" I wanted to be in control. So I forced myself into submission to myself and beat the mind tricks.

Great word Wilcard, great words... like em. I started smoking at the age of 12 and quitting at the age of 19, my style of quitting, I tried to stop smoke periodically, 1st 24 hours, one of my longest 24 hours, then I get to smoke one, then 48 hours, then one, 72 hours, 96 hours, 120 hours, after that when I tried to smoke one, it taste like hell.... Then I quit...

With Chantix, the cravings have been ALOT less... and my dreams have been interesting. Other than that, no side effects.

I think it's best that one uses the technique that suits them to quit because it would never be the same for everyone. I just did it instantaneously. The important aspect I think is to beat it with your own mind no matter what tactic you use in the war.

This thread is particularly timely.
On Tusday for the course I am teaching the lecture will be on substace abuse and one of the topics is nicotine addiction.
