Can I change the font in this MP? I tried creating "Fonts" in "zesource" and "Resource" but it's still the stock font... and it's too big :( . I downloaded an N95 font and renamed all files (8-|) but now I see it's useless... They just won't apply >.< . Any ideas? :(

I was unable to change the font with this MP also, that was a while back and im not using this flash right now.

How are you renaming your fonts?
Only other thing i can suggest would be to use high logic font creator to rename the .ttf files. Open the .ttf file and use the AutoNaming feature.
Or, use a known working font, if that fails i would say there is a problem applying custom fonts with this MP:boh:

Hmm... Maybe it's because the actual "Resource" folder that is used in Elegance 1.0 for example is named "zesource" in FoxMod... But in C:\ there is no zesource, but Resource. Maybe that's the problem...

Okay, any ideas on how to change the font in this MP?

-----

Uhm, if creating E:\Resource\Fonts with desired fonts kinda replaces the fonts being used from C:\Resource, why can't we just replace the .ttf's from C:\ with the ones we want? :D

-----

If that's impossible... How else to change the font in this MP? I really hate this font (the font from Elegance 1.0 - after deleting the Fonts folder) looked a lot better, and I'd like to use that Nokia N95 font :D .

Here is a quote from another forum by foxcopy himself, regarding font change on this MP.

You can not change the fonts in this Flash Pack

You are right, no Chinese support in this MP.

There are no language pack flashes for these phones, you would need to edit the firmware itself to add an additional language.
I could be wrong, but I don't recall any firmware for the Z8 that will support Chinese...:boh:

I read that foxcopy was going to release his next MP with Chinese, lets hope to see that:)

For some reason when I connect my motorola Z8 and start up RSD lite v4.6 (all drivers have been correctly installed) the device is shown however when I select my phone and the foxmod*.sbf file the start button is greyed out.

I have run the program (SDL as admin)
I have tried the method of multiple locoations extraction (RSD Lite Root, Desktop, My Documents)
I have tried the cmd method

The closest I have gotten to getting it right was using the method of extracting the data to the respective folders, the start button was now available but the flash failed, it gave me the error message "Failed to flash (0x7100) phone connected.

I don't understand what I am doing wrong, can anyone help??

Have you seen this thread here?
Trouble flashing with RSD lite in Vista/Windows 7 (http://206.225.94.82/forum/showthread.php?t=8101)

What OS are you running? Another option would be to flash with XP mode (If available)

First of all, I apologize for my not so much fluent english.
I'm a Z8 user and, after have spoken with Phone House's technical people (here in Madrid) I've learned that need to reflash my unit in order to avoid various functioning flaws... The big prob is that my unit is out of warranty and they don't service these old Motorola units.
Well, I'll try to solve myself but, "with a little help from my friends".
I don't know if my unit is compatible with this "FoxMod Z8-2388c8-MP-V3.4", my version is:
ESPOO_U_46.04.64G_000006f5; espoo_uiq_31_2000648_2312c5_z20071109; Moto build= 2312C5 Z.
Is my first time with this matter, so I need "some" advice and guide through the entire process... Could you help me?.
THX in advance for your time and interest...

Your good to flash, just follow the instructions on the first post and your all set.

-Copy the "zesource" folder to your memory card (this is included in the download)

-If you're not worried about backing up any contacts, media etc. you can skip step 1

-Google yourself a copy of RSD lite, author recommends using version 4.3 (I've used version 4.9 and had no troubles). Be sure you have the latest handset drivers installed to your PC, you can find those here (choose the correct version for your operating syetem)
Motorola USB Drivers (http://www.mmus.us/forum/downloads.php?do=cat&id=171)

-Be sure you have a full charge on the battery and flash with RSD lite, use this guide here for flashing.

Any other questions, just ask :)

Big THX, all is OK at first time... Only one "little thing", the process is so tedious, that now I've understood that is really necessary to have a fully charged battery for safety.
Well, I go to bed now (here in Madrid, Spain is 4:51 a.m) tomorrow we continue with new tests and so on.
THX one more time.
Best regards.
