Conversion from R47A to R479 Guide

REMEMBER TO FULLY CHARGE YOUR BATTERY . IF YOU HAVE STICKY FIRMWARE DO NOT TRY THIS. ALWAYS MAKE BACKUPS. THIS IS ONLY FOR V3i WITH 0A.30 BOOTLOADER

Chapter One. From R47A to R479.

This guide is intended for advanced users (even when the procedure is very straight forward.

Download R47A to R479 to R4441D Conversion Pack. It includes the R47A>R479 firmware & R4441D firmware plus 5 EDGE seems.

1) Make a full backup of your phone (including PDS & bootloader) and make a separate backup of your flex (just your flex, so you can upload your stuff later)

2) Reflash the R47A>R479 firmware & verify that the firmware in your fact is R479.

If you were looking for R479 firmware, you're good here.

Chapter Two. From R479 to R4441D

This one is for the ones that want EDGE on their phones.

1) Flash the R4441D RSA Removed firmware & verify that you're running on R4441D


Chapter Three. Restoring your CG2

Now you can flex the backup of your CG2 (flex) so you get all your stuff back.


Chapter Four. Follow ONLY if you flashed R4441D Firmware

1) Upload the 5 seems that came in the pack.

2) Edit seem 0032_0001 and go to Offset 89, and check bits 2 & 3.

You should have full EDGE capability. You'll probably need to sign a data plan to access EDGE.


To install your favorite CORElet, just follow this short guide:

Install iTunes on a V3i by overgrownmoose

The same method applies for ALL CORElets

Chapter Five. From R4441D & Back to R47A

Why would you want that? You have EDGE & iTunes! Well. just in case.

Download R4441D to R479 to R47A Conversion Pack, containing the R4441D>R479, the Dmattsn-uptaded (R79 toR47A) & the iTunes seems.

First flash the R4441D > R479 firmware, then verify if your firmware is R479.

After that, flash the Dmattsn-uptaded (R79 toR47A)

Now upload the iTunes seems.

And you're back to iTunes with 100 song limit & plus, you have RSA removed.

i understand with this tutor but if my bootloader is 0A.52 n SW version is R47A can it convert it to r479 n go to r4441d with out downgrade Bootloader ???

Wich program are you using to flash ?

I'm using Flash&Backup and I always get error and I can't restore my backup.

The error came only when sending the CG1

Sir I'm newbie.
Previously I've successfully mods out with ROKR E6 but please help me here with V3i....

Ma phone's dead after flashing R479-85R (0A.52) with Ritza's R4441D-Nanorazr :(
Thank God, but then I ressurected it again with another one, an 86R, and its done well.

Now if I wannit R4441D (0A.30) in ma phone,,, do I must only download such conversion, and, flash it back to my 86R with option "Remove RSA Verification" checked?
And then, the second step is editing the SEEM for EGDE capable? Is that right sir?

-- sometimes I confuse it around though have read instruction here and there already coz this is not EZX Linux-based phone
